Working with local artisans in Ghana, Victoria Agyepomaa designs this bold, colorful mask that is hand carved from sese wood and painted by hand. The nose and outer border of the circular mask are adorned with textured aluminum repoussé metalwork, which creates a brilliant contrast against the painted wood. Victoria names her design I kgabu /I which is a Zulu word meaning "to decorate richly."
